Fantasy
We sat on the bed every evening, Listening to the tales, Letting the words fill the air With color, inflection, and story. We ran around the yard, Inarticulate war cries on our lips, Acting out the lives of heroes In adventures and quests. And then we grew older. Today, just because the myths and legends Take place on pages And then in our minds Doesn’t make them any less real Than they ever were before.
